The Role of Stockpile Facilities in Maintaining Coal Supply Continuity

The Role of Stockpile Facilities in Maintaining Coal Supply Continuity

A stockpile facility is not just a storage site—it is the backbone of supply reliability. Learn how good stockpile management protects your industrial operations.

Stockpile: More Than Just a Warehouse

Industries that rely on coal as a primary energy source often face a dilemma: storing too much stock ties up large capital, but too little stock risks operational shutdown. The solution is partnering with a supplier that has professional stockpile facilities—so you get stock availability without bearing storage costs yourself.

Quality Management at the Stockpile

At PT. HUA YAO ENERGI's stockpile facility, coal is not just stored—it is actively managed:

  • Separation by specification: Coal with different calorific values and moisture levels is stored separately to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Compaction and covering: Coal piles are compacted and covered to minimize spontaneous combustion and quality degradation from weather.
  • Periodic sampling: Samples are taken on every incoming delivery to verify specification compliance with the CoA from the source.
  • First In First Out (FIFO): Stock rotation management ensures older coal is not left behind and its quality does not decline.

Capacity and Strategic Location

Our stockpile at Jl. Tambak Osowilangun No. 9, Surabaya is strategically located near Tanjung Perak Port and major East Java toll road access. With a capacity of 20,000 m² and active stock of up to 60,000 tons, we can serve many customers simultaneously without long queues at pickup.

Visit Our Facility

We welcome prospective customers to visit our stockpile facility in person—to see storage conditions, sampling processes, and delivery logistics systems. Transparency is our commitment. Contact our sales team to schedule a visit.
